Peter and I both really like Basel. It was a very nice place to live. We lived in a great apartment, and in a great location of the city. Despite all my complaining about the heat, the trash system, etc, we had a great summer.
I asked Peter what he was going to miss about Switzerland and he didn’t hesitate before saying, “the bakery”. Peter had a special bakery (Alain Wischlen) that we went to every single day for bread for dinner (and whatever else looked good that day). I ate almost no bread on a daily basis, so Peter ate a small loaf by himself every night with oil and balsamic vinegar.
I will most miss my daily croissant.
