Lucerne, Switzerland

On Saturday we spent the day with our friend Alicia in Lucerne, Switzerland. Lucerne is about an hour train ride south of Basel. Lucerne is the city that made me fall in love with Switzerland 10+ years ago.

The highlight of the day was going up Mount Pilatus. To get to the mountain you take an hour-long boat ride, then the world’s steepest cogwheel train to the top. To get back down you take a gondola. The best part was watching the glee on Peter’s face while we were on the cogwheel train. Nerd alert!

Most of you probably haven’t ever even seen Peter smile so much.

The lowlight of the day was spending $6 on an ice cream cone and $7 on an order of french fries.
