The proposal — part 2

See yesterday’s post for part 1 of our proposal story.

Yesterday: pre-proposal background
Today: the proposal (or more accurately, the anti-proposal)

—-

FOUR days before I was to leave for my apartment-hunting trip to Baltimore, the anti-proposal happened.

It was a Saturday night. Around 11pm we were cuddled in a LoveSac in Peter’s stinky bachelor pad basement. We were watching a rerun of Law & Order. During a commercial break Peter said, “Soooo…did you still want to get married?”

“Um…I do if you do.”

He handed me a ring box. I opened it and put the ring (which was totally blingin’) on my finger. I was excited, so I asked him if we should we call our parents.

“Nah.”

I asked him if we should tell his roommates, who were all home in their bedrooms throughout the house.

“Nah.”

Law & Order started up again, and we finished the episode.

The end.
